Wa East District Bedevils with Poor Road Networks, Most Communities Not Linked to the Capital

The Wa East District is about 20-Years since its Establishment by Former President Kuffour in 2004, is bedeviled with Poor Road Networks leading to developmental Setbacks including challenges by Assembly Members in attending assembly Meetings regularly.

Most of the Roads in the Area, are disconnected by Rivers, the Ghana Education Service Office of the Area Has been Moved to Wa from Funsi the Capital of the Wa East District.

Speaking to Assembly Member for Kulkpong Electoral Area, Hon. Jogne Philip, He indicated, that travelling to Funsi is always hectic because, they have to Travel to Wa before they can find their way to Funsi.

“During some Assembly meetings, we have to get to Wa, hire a bus and come together, Myself and some assembly Members including Loggu, Manwe Assembly Members

The Assembly Member for Duu West Electoral Area, Hon. Sokutadun Gafaru has also expressed concerns about the Nature of roads in the district.

He indicated that, to travel from Duu to Funsi is almost impossible because of some seven rivers they ah e to cross, he added that it was rather easy traveling through Kojokperi in the Dafiama-Bussie-Issa District to Funsi that going straight through the District’s Approved Road.

Some Stakeholders by Name Sissala South Unity for Development have begun Agitating for the Constituency to be divided into two, They Proposed that the Funsi Area is Named Sissala South Constituency.
