Cheria, a vibrant farming community in the Wa municipality, is celebrating a long-awaited victory in their battle against dusty roads and transportation challenges. Residents are now rejoicing and expressing their sincere appreciation to the government of Ghana for tarring the road connecting their community to the regional capital.
Mr. Tamiimu, a resident and prominent member of the community, shared his gratitude while speaking to the Radio Progress news team on Thursday, February 15, 2024. He stated that, the residents could now journey to the Wa market without the burden of being engulfed in thick layers of dust that had plagued their daily lives for many years.
He highlighted the significant impact of the road has had on the community’s agricultural activities and healthcare services.
He added that, the improved road network will greatly benefit residents who require medical attention beyond the community’s capacity. Patients can now easily access larger healthcare facilities located in the municipality, ensuring timely and efficient medical care when needed most.
Mr. Tamiimu. He called on the urban road department to implement strategic measures that would discourage over-speeding and reduce the risk of road accidents in the area.
