The Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban S.K. Bagbin Dakagli-Naa has 25th August,2025, extended his support to the 2025 Dumba Festival by donating essential food items to the festival’s planning committee. The donation comprises 100 bags of 25kg rice, 30 cartons of cooking oil, and 20 cartons of Tasty Tom tomato paste, aimed at bolstering preparations and hospitality for the celebration.
The Dakagli-Naa of the Waala Traditional Council, Rt. Hon. Bagbin donation underscores his deep cultural ties and commitment to the Waala community.
The items were formally presented on his behalf by the Upper West Regional Minister, Hon. Charles Lwanga Puozuing Esq., who led a distinguished delegation, this included the Wa Metropolitan Chief Executive, Hon. Nurah Issah Danwanaa; the Upper West Regional Chairman of the NDC; the Wa Central Constituency Chairman; members of the Regional Security Council (REGSEC); and representatives from the Office of the Speaker, led by Mr. Charles Kwame Dondieu.
During the presentation, Hon. Puozuing emphasized the significance of the Dumba Festival in promoting unity, peace, and social cohesion within the Waala Traditional Council and the broader region. He conveyed the Speaker’s heartfelt appreciation for the festival and its role in strengthening community bonds.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Wanaah and the festival’s organizing committee, the Secretary to the Waala Traditional Council expressed gratitude for the timely support. He noted that this was not the first time Rt. Hon. Bagbin had contributed meaningfully to the festival, recalling a previous donation of a modern public address system that continues to serve the Palace and the community effectively.
The Secretary offered prayers and well-wishes for the Speaker, acknowledging his enduring commitment to the cultural and developmental aspirations of the Waala people.
