The newly confirmed District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Wa West District, Hon. Richard Wullo, has officially assumed Office following his overwhelming endorsement by Assembly members.
Hon. Richard Wullo took over his new office as the president’s representative for the Wa West District on Monday, May 5, 2025, a few days after his inauguration at the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council. He was welcomed by the staff of the District Assembly and led on a brief tour within the premises to interact and exchange pleasantries with staff on duty.
Hon. Richard Wullo, later in the day, embarked on a familiarization tour to some decentralized governmental departments within the district capital in the company of some senior staff of the Wa West District Assembly, constituency executives, and some assembly members.
His first point of call was at the Wa West Education Directorate, where the Hon. DCE served precisely at Bulingin D/A Junior High School until his appointment to seek the blessings and support of his former home. At a closed-door meeting with the director and management of the Education Directorate, Hon. Richard Wullo disclosed that strengthening education would be his topmost priority, adding that education is the bedrock of development.
“As one who was here, i am aware of the pressing challenges of this Directorate and will collaborate with you to overcome these challenges and to propel learning outcomes in the district.”
For his part, the District Director of Education for the Wa West District, who also serves as vice chairman of the Conference of Directors of Education, Mr. Amatus D. Tug-uu, expressed gratitude to the Hon. DCE for making the Education Directorate his first point of call. He expressed optimism at the DCE’s words to prioritize education in his tenure and wished him well as he leads the district’s administration.
