
The Upper West united cadres front associated with the NDC has on Monday, 5th August, 2024 issued a strong worded press release to counter some Residents of the Sefwi-Wiawso constituency in the Western North Region on Wednesday, July 24, staged a protest against Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, demanding an apology for ejecting their Member of Parliament, Dr Kwaku Afriyie, from the House.
A group of residents, believed to be New Patriotic Party (NPP) sympathizers, demonstrated against Speaker Bagbin, describing his actions as unfortunate and disrespectful to their MP and the people of Sefwi-Wiawso
They have demanded an unconditional apology within a week, threatening to take further action if their demands are not met.

In response, the united cadres front in the upper west region lead by a former upper west regional minister Ambassador Mohamud Khali described the protest of the Sefwi-Wiawso Residents as ignorant and said the speaker did no wrong to Dr Kwaku Afriyie and will not apologize to him.
Ambassador Mohamud Khali said the threats from Sefwi-Wiawso Residents are empty threats and will be countered if any attempt is made beyond this point.
