Residents of Daribaateng in the Wa West District are facing some challenges with their kindergarten school facility. They have a KG 1 and KG 2 block, but unfortunately, there are no teachers assigned to teach the students. As a result, many students are not attending school and are roaming around in the community aimlessly.
Madam Tunye Sellina a resident, speaking to radio progress news in the community explained that, if there were teachers at the school, they will always send the children to school and go to assist their husbands in the farm.
She istherefore appealing to the Government of Ghana through Ghana Education Service, to help post teachers to their school facility. This would ensure that the students receive the education they deserve and have a structured learning environment.
Another resident, Mr Domah Kobier Edward narrated that, the community came to together to construct the KG 1 AND GK2 block by collective contributions and build the facility up to roofing level and then solicit for support from the Wa West District Assembly, which was granted, enabling them to complete the facility. He further added that school children have to walk at about 2 kilo meters from Daribaateng to other communities to have access to education, as a results children below the ages of 10 to 11 find it difficult to walk that distance to have education, they are appealing to the Government through Wa west district education services to post teachers to the school to make education accessible to all children.
