Residents of the Dotanga under the Dorimon Electoral Area in the Wa West District, are urgently appealing to the government and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to assist in building additional school infrastructure in the area.
Mr. Gounah Shahiid stated that, the current situation is dire, with an overwhelming number of students packed into a single classroom, often exceeding 100 students. This severe congestion makes learning and teaching extremely challenging, resulting in a significant number of students in the electoral area opting not to attend school altogether.
Mr. Moses, concerned resident, further elaborated on the situation, stating that, earlier this year, a severe rainstorm ravaged the roof of the Dorimon Electoral Area Junior High School block, leaving the classrooms in an utterly deplorable condition. Despite reporting this situation to the Wa West District Assembly for prompt intervention, no action has been taken to date. With schools currently on break, the community is worried that when students return, they will be forced to study in the same dilapidated classrooms, which are essentially open to the rainfalls, sun rays, offering no protection to the students. Community members are therefore appealing to philanthropist and NGOS To intervene to help the roof their classroom blocks.
