The Member of Parliament for Lawra Constituency, Hon. Bede Anwataazumoh Ziedeme has supported the calls by Mr. Kwesi Jonah, a Senior Research fellow at the Institute for Democratic Governance who has urged the Electoral Commission to publish the results of all polling stations on its website to enhance election transparency as the country head towards 2024 polls.
According to the Lawra Lawmaker, prior to the 2020 elections similar proposals were made during an IDEG meeting but the EC could not implement them and of which at the end of the polls, the results were been rigged.
Hon Bede Ziedeme speaking to Radio progress revealed that, it was beyond his imagination that, the EC declared election results six times; adding that, it was first in the history of the country.
He also noted that, the 202 election results were been politically manipulated. The Lawra MP added that, his party, NDC will not turn eyes down during this year’s election because of the poor electronic system of the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
He also said the Vice President Dr. Mahamud Bawumia should be mugged at for not digitalizing the country’s election processes and results for transparency.
Meanwhile, Hon Bede Anwataazumoh Ziedeme also mentioned that, the NDC party is going to beat the NPP hands down without complains if there is transparency in the election results.
