Community development alliance- CDA Ghana an N.G.O in the upper west region, in collaboration with some civil society organizations have partitioned the speaker of parliament Hon. SK Bagbin calling on him to oversee a swift passage of the affirmative action bill and the legislation on non-governmental organization.
The communique was issued following a regional civic society advocacy and women groups forum on the non-governmental organization legislation and the affirmative action bill.
The communique, which was presented to the upper west regional minister through the deputy coordinating director, Joseph A Abugri, for subsequent submission to the speaker of parliament among other provisions, stated that, the passage of the affirmative action bill was long overdue.
Parts of the communique which was read by a representative of the C.D.A Lydia Fordjour, detailed that, the passage of the bill will increase women participation in decision, thereby providing appropriate solution for our respective communities.
