Do not wait on government Planting for food and Jobs program -Agricultural extension agent calls on farmers

An agricultural extension agent in the Wa West district of the upper West region Mr. Ali Salma has called on farmers to continue to farm the way they used to do whiles waiting on the government’s Planting for food and job program.

According to him, the rain fall pattern has changed and this has affected the planting time for many crops. While some crops need fertilizer at this time some other farmers are yet to sow their seeds, meanwhile the much-anticipated subsidized fertilizers are not available till date.

He said this, during a telephone conversation while advising farmers to put in more efforts and not have high hopes for the Planting For Food and Jobs fertilizer because they may be disappointed by the unpredictable times we are in.

He hinted that, by the middle of this month all farmers must have finished sowing Their seeds, and wait to apply fertilizers if applicable.
