The National Democratic Congress Upper West Regional Communication Bureau has issued a rejoinder to a statement by Mr. Salam Mustapha, the National Youth Organizer for the ruling N.P.P.
According to N.D.C Upper West Regional Communication Bureau, the statement by Mr. Salam Mustapha, the National Youth Organizer for the New Patriotic Party is reckless and unconstitutional.
In a press statement issued by the N.D.C Upper West Regional Communication Bureau signed by the Regional Communication Officer, Mr. Issah Kantaguere, indicates that, the NDC in the Region wish to register their total revulsion to a comment by the youth leader.
“We the NDC wish to register our total revulsion to such irresponsible and reckless comments by the youth leader of a so-called patriotic party priding itself as lovers of the principles of rule of law and constitutionalism”.
They bureau also admonished and strongly caution the NPP; stating that, they will not sit aloof and watch the NPP apparatchik erode the gains made by the country through reckless, greed and shameless addiction to the sweet trapping of political power.
The NDC Communication Bureau explained that, the only way a political party can hold legitimate power for a four year team is through winning an election with 50%+1 of the valid votes casted as stated in by the 1992 constitution of Ghana; and therefore the statement by Mr. Salam is an offence to the constitution and should be condemned by all Ghanaian.
They also said they have not forgotten of similar sentiments which were made by another NPP apparatchik, Mr. Brian Acheampong who earlier on said “the NPP will not hand over power to NDC”.
The Bureau in their statement called on the NPP to think twice if the purpose of their reckless statements is to intimidate the NDC; adding that, the NDC is not scared of such infantile and irresponsible outburst of the NPP.
The NDC Upper West Regional Communication Bureau also said, they will march the NPP boot-for-boot, pound-for-pound with equal deliberate and measures response should the NPP try any tactics before, during and after the 2024 elections. They however called on the NPP National Youth Organizer to rather be concern of how to redeem the tattered image of the NPP flag bearer Dr. Mahamud Bawumia and as well as to concentrate on redeeming the NPP failed promises made to Ghanaian which are not honored.
Meanwhile, the National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has predicted victory for the party ahead of the December 2024 general elections. According to him, the ruling party will win by hook or by crook.
“By hook or crook, we are going to win the December elections. We are going to campaign like we have never done before and that is why I am extremely confident about our victory and nothing is going to stop it,” he stated
The NPP youth organiser also made arguments in favor of the party’s flag bearer, Dr. Mahamud Bawumie.
He stated that the vice president has had a more positive impact on Ghanaians than former president John Dramani Mahama; adding that, the first time Dr. Bawumia is appearing on the ballot is 2024. John Mahama has appeared in 2012, 2016 and 2020… But his impact shows that he is a stronger force as far as the two Northern brothers are concerned.
“Today, if I take you to Dondoli, you will see a youth resource centre. The North will not forget that the first flyover in the region comes from Dr Mahamudu Bawumia… The north will not forget that the first ever sports stadium built in the north was under Aliu Mahama,” he added.
